Created by Jeff Brown, Players Din is about putting real musicians together in the same room playing and improvising music.
“A video series where I invite my side musician friends over to play in my basement. We improvise, jam and solo over original riffs and musical ideas. We show how much fun it can be to improv and play with other musicians. Maybe re-capture our early years of playing with our friends after school. Included will be short interviews with each musician about their personal history, gear and philosophy on music.” Jeff Brown

Walter Grier … Born a native of New York, Walter ‘Rock The Pocket’ Grier, began playing drums at the early age of six years old. His love of drums was displayed every Saturday morning when instead of doing his household chores, he would easily get distracted while listening to music. Coming from a family where his Grandfather and Grandmother were both music educators, his six uncles were musicians and instrumentalist, his 4 aunts were instrumentalist and singers, how can you not grow up to love music? His Uncle, Joe Grier, would record the chart topping do-wop song Desiree in 1957. With so much music in his blood Walter would grow up playing drums in the church at an early age. He would play for his high school jazz band and for many different church choirs and groups and would travel with them. He would then relocate to the Washington DC area in his early 20s, where he continued his passion for playing drums. Musicians would love to work with Walter because of his ability to play and keep his timing locked and in the pocket, thus he would gain the nickname “rock the pocket!”. His passion for Gospel music would lead him to play for many local Gospel groups such as, The Young Adult Choir (Washington, DC), The Harmonizers Quartet (WDC), The Chimes (WDC), The Chosen (Newport News, VA), Divine Worship (NYC), The New Generation Choir (NYC), The West Baltimore Adult Choir (Baltimore, MD), The Soulful Sounds (MD).
Walter has played for many churches in many cities throughout the United States. During his tenure Walter has had the privilege of playing at the prestigious Apollo in New York City, Radio City Music Hall in New York City, Madison Square Garden in New York City, The Kennedy Center in Washington DC, the Convention Center in Washington DC and the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton Virginia, and many many more venues. With his real deep passion for playing drums, his quiet and laid-back demeanor, Walter has never sought fortune or fame. Walter decided to pursue his drumming career on a full-time basis after incurring injuries during the 9/11 Terrorist Attack of The Pentagon in Arlington,VA. At the time of the attacks Walter was on duty where he worked as a Professional Firefighter for the Arlington County Fire Dept. Realizing that everyone should do what they dream of doing, Walter decided to live his dream.
Walter ‘Rock ThePocket’ Grier currently Endorses: Drumtacs , Soultone Cymbals , Mono Cases and Black Widow Drum Web.

Matt Starr is an American born rock drummer, singer and producer. He is the current drummer for guitarist and founding KISS member Ace Frehley. He played drum on Ace Frehley’s 2014 release “Space Invader”(eOne Records). Starr was asked to play on the record after performing a few shows with Frehley in 2012. He is the only drummer other than Late Night With David Letterman drummer Anton Fig, to play on the entirety of one of Frehley’s records. The 2014 release drew comparisons to 70′s KISS and Frehley 1978 solo album. While remaining with Frehley, in 2013 Starr began playing with Burning Rain which was formed by Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich and Montrose vocalist Keith St John. He also toured the UK and U.S. with Love/Hate. In 2004 Starr toured with Quiet Riot front man Kevin DuBrow in support of DuBrow’s solo release “In For The Kill“. In 2005 Matt co-wrote and recorded Beautiful Creatures sophomore release “Deuce” (Spitfire Records) and toured with the band the same year. The song “Freedom” was placed in the 2009 Sandra Bullock film “The Proposal“. “Anyone”, also from Deuce was placed in the FX series “Sons Of Anarchy“

Super bob is a rock band from the Washington DC area formed under the name “bob” in 05. We have four members. Matt Santoro on vocals, Adam Smith on guitar, Drew Recny on bass, and Chris Faircloth on drums. We wont waste your time with a long winded description of our accomplishments, or grandiose exaggerations of who we are and what we’ve done. To make it short and sweet we will simply say that Super bob is a hard working, dedicated, full time rock band that plays about 240 shows a year (actual shows, not just days on the road). We have 3 full length records (all available on iTunes), recorded by amazing producers (Garth “GGGarth” Richardson, and Matt LaPlant) , our members hold sponsorship’s from companies like P.R.S., Sabian, Drumtacs and G.H.S to name a few. Our live show is more then overblown hype, it’s a fun, energetic, captivating, physical expression of music with an energy and presence beyond the words that can be written in a bio. We spread through the eastern half of the country by starting in one place, building a following, and moving to the next city. Nothing fancy, no label, no investor just hard work and dedication. We’re a new sound in rock and roll, with an old fashioned rock and roll attitude. We’re familiar, yet completely different. In 2014 you can expect to hear more new music, we’ve already started the record. You can also expect to see us on the road 20-25 days a month, every month. Thank you, and we’ll see you soon! -Team Super bob
Welcome Nate and Marissa and the Staff from The Drum Shop North Shore as our newest Drumtacs Certified Dealer …
“Marissa and I had a busy year in 2012. We graduated college in May, got married in July, moved from Maine to Massachusetts in September, and held the Grand Opening of The Drum Shop North Shore in November. Since then, we’ve been plugging along to create our vision of the ideal local drum shop. DSNS is meant to be more than a place to get drum sticks and heads – it’s a meeting place for area musicians – a place to get inspired and make new friends.
There’s a stigma that local shops are more expensive and offer less selection than the big box stores, but that’s not the case at DSNS. We have a superior selection at the best prices around. We work hard to exceed your expectations and stay within your budget. Please come down and see what we’re all about.”
~ Nate Morrison
The shop was created for two reasons: to serve the drumming needs of area musicians with a personal, attentive, and unmatched level of service AND to build a new crop of passionate and creative drummers through our lesson program.
